23 Aug 09 - Hello everyone...update time again.
The staff here has had a busy summer, as I'm sure everyone else has. Looks like its about time to get back to those tanks. I'm sure we all have some overdue maintenance to preform. Maybe even some new friends to pick up! All in all, we hope everything has been well with you.
We have made quite a few changes around here since our last update. As far as staff positions go "Midmichman" has been promoted to global moderator due to his high levels of knowledge and activity. Also, "JohnL" has moved up to staff, taking Mid's old position. Our senior mod "Chris" has stepped down, due to real life issues, so if you have questions directed directly at him, you may not get an answer. Please direct your questions to the other members or to the staff. “Chris” will still be around from time to time but with real life issues his time will be limited. "Whiskers" has stepped up and taken over the senior mod position.
Were going to be starting out first contest next month! Starting 1 Sept all users will be able to email their favorite picture of their fish to JohnL. He will post them all in a thread and everyone will vote for their favorite. The winner will receive a FTK decal from the staff.

We also have a few new staff positions opened up. We're looking for 1 - 2 street team members, and a web-design assistant. If you are interested in any of these positions please notify a staff member.
We are also looking into having t-shirts and window decals for sale within the next month, we are working out the details so we can give the members that are interested the best possible price. This will be a great way to help us site grow and continue to provide a friendly place for all to share and learn.
We are looking for member input on adding a photo forum, please come by and vote in the poll.
The forum has grown quicker than we expected, in just four months we have almost 300 members. We credit this to our hard working staff and members that are dedicated to the site.
We have also decided to add a fish species profiles to the site, We are beginning work on this now and hope to have a fairly comprehensive list over the next few months. This will help with making the decision of what to buy the next time you go to your favorite fish store.
We began adding Native species for each state, that proved to be a larger task than expected so we have moved it to the back burner and Brian will be taking over the project.
Well, thank you for your patience with us, and for coming back time and time again. If this is your first time here we all warmly welcome you, and hope that you will stick with us.
